Warner Bros. Pictures’ Terminator Salvation opened to $13.3 million from 3,530 theaters on Thursday. About $3 million of that came from midnight screenings. The last film in the franchise, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, had a preview night on July 1, 2003 during which it earned $4 million and then it made $12.4 million the next full day in 3,355 theaters.

The McG-directed film may get close to adding another $60 million over the four-day Friday-to-Monday Memorial Day frame for a total of over $70 million for its first five days.

Starting today, Terminator Salvation is going head-to-head with two more wide releases – Fox’s Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Paramount’s Dance Flick.

Moon Bloodgood is featured on the cover of Maxim magazine, June 2009. It’s a hot new shoot and she is also listed on their annual “Hot 100″ list. She ranks at #21. Not bad, but I think she should be higher!

The former Laker Girl has emerged as the hottest thing known to man in Terminator Salvation. “I like to think I’m multifaceted. Sexy, but approachable.” So that means you’re dropping the restraining order?

Terminator: Salvation may not be hitting theaters for another two weeks, but that hasn’t stopped director McG and his team from starting work on the inevitable home video release blowout. In an interview with Collider, the director revealed a couple of tidbits that fans can expected to see included on the DVD/Blu-ray.

The biggest news is the revelation that the disc will come packing 30-40 minutes of deleted footage, including some John Connor speeches, an alternate ending and… wait for it… Moon Bloodgood topless. There will also be some sort of extra – presumably some sort of picture-in-picture Blu-ray exclusive – in which McG walks into the frame for some storyboard-to-film comparisons.

Be aware that McG goes into some detail on the film’s alternate ending in the video here. If you want to remain completely pure and spoiler-free in advance of Terminator: Salvation’s release, skip the vid or at least hold off on watching it for another two weeks.

Q: Anton, how did this compare to being on the Starship Enterprise?

Anton: It’s very different. They’re both really incredible to be a part of and experience, and to be on the sets is just insane. They’re both iconic franchises, but with two totally different moods and philosophies, so it was pretty wonderful to go from one universe into a totally different universe. Even though they’re both science fiction, the two of these couldn’t be more different in tone and understanding of the world they describe.

Q: Moon, McG has said that if L.A. were nuked, you’d be the last woman standing. What do you think he see in you to merit that?

And finally will the topless Moon Bloodgood scene make it to the DVD/Blu Ray release? McG states maybe. Not to distract from the sci fi feel of the film the Moon Bloodgood scene was cut, McG goes on to say “it felt more like a gratuitous moment of a girl taking her top off in an action picture, and I didn’t want that to convolute the story or the characters.”

You might recall Moon did film a topless scene for the film to which she commented “It’s not like we’re trying to be shallow, it’s like who cares? I fight so much against nudity, but I’m a woman, I have boobs, it’s a beautiful shot. It wasn’t at all gratuitous. I’m not afraid to say ‘no.’ I would have said, ‘No, I’m not doing it,’ and I’ve done that, but it was beautiful. Did you ever just want to get naked and connect to someone? Imagine the world is coming to an end and you just want to connect with someone and you’re like, ‘I don’t care.’”
